While Kevin Verpaele was born in Elmhurst, Illinois, he actually grew up in Florida and has subsequently lived most of his life in various regions of that state. He grew up in Merritt Island, Florida and graduated from Merritt Island High School in 1999, which is when he received a scholarship to play football and to matriculate at the University of South Florida. As a strong safety, he was quite dedicated to the football team.
He already was married and raising a child, and he would, with coach’s permission, leave practice early and, in full uniform and padding, pick up his daughter from day care. Being a man of commitment, however, Kevin Verpaele always returned to practice with his teammates, and he was even honored by being named captain of the team for his senior season. Upon graduation, Kevin moved his family into a home in Melbourne, in Brevard County. For more than 15 years, he has accumulated a significant amount of work experience in some very interesting and diverse areas.
